Abstract: Shoot and root growth is facilitated by stem cells in the shoot and root apical meristems (SAM and RAM). Recent reports have demonstrated a close link between nitrogen nutrition, nitric oxide (NO), and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the regulation of SAM and RAM functions in response to nitrogen availability.
